Now it will be a little easier to be unemployed

If you become unemployed after January 1, 2024, you will only have to attend an interview with the unemployment insurance fund for the first three months of your unemployment. You don't have to spend time attending meetings with the job center and can therefore focus fully on your job search.

Should you become unemployed in 2024, there's one thing you can look forward to: You'll experience a much simpler contact process where you'll only have to attend interviews with the unemployment fund. This is because the unemployment insurance fund will take over responsibility for getting you into employment in the first three months of your unemployment. This avoids you having to attend interviews with both the unemployment fund and the job center, and it will reduce the number of interviews that are mandatory. If we take an unemployment period of six months, the number of meetings you have to attend is reduced from nine to six.

- We are looking at both our members' and our own paths to becoming the primary player for our newly unemployed members in 2024. Through the so-called unemployment fund trial, which has been running as a political experiment for the past four years, a number of measurements have been made, and Min A-kasse is positive on crucial parameters. A more flexible contact
An extra plus for busy job seekers is that you can now choose whether you want to meet with us via Teams or in person. However, the first meeting with the unemployment fund must be a physical meeting. After that, the choice is free.

The focus of the meetings with the unemployment fund, which from now on will be called "job interviews", will be based on how we can work together to ensure that you get closer to a job.

We help with a smooth transition to the job center
When you transition to the job center after the first three months, you can ask us to participate in the first job interview at the job center. This ensures a smooth transition from us to the job center. However, it will still be the job center that is responsible for granting offers throughout the period of your unemployment. An offer can be, for example, education, internship or wage subsidies.
