Interviews you must attend when you receive unemployment benefits

Especially at the beginning of your unemployment, you will need to attend several interviews with the unemployment fund. As a rule, you must attend your first interview with us within 2 weeks of becoming unemployed. How you are called for interviews can vary. Sometimes we call you for a fixed interview time, other times you will be asked to book an appointment yourself. It is important that you book the interviews correctly.

You are obliged to attend interviews and take up offers arranged by your unemployment insurance fund, local authority, or other relevant body. Read more about the consequences of failing to attend an interview.

Have you been unemployed before? You may already have attended the interviews that must be held within the first six months. After that, you will only need to attend interviews with the municipality as required.

Of course, you are always welcome to contact us to book a separate conversation if you need help or sparring in your job search.

How to book an interview with the unemployment fund

Once you have registered as unemployed, you will receive a letter stating that you need to book an interview with the unemployment insurance fund within a certain period of time. It is your responsibility to book an appointment for your first interview.

If you do not book an appointment before the deadline and/or do not attend the interview, this will have consequences for your entitlement to unemployment benefits. You will automatically be deregistered from jobnet.dk if you have not booked an interview before the deadline. You will not be eligible for unemployment benefits on the days you are deregistered. You can receive unemployment benefits again from the day you re-register as unemployed on jobnet.dk.

The self-booking rules only apply to certain calls. Please call us on +45 7012 3782 if you are unsure about anything.

Interviews at Min A-kasse

The first interview with the unemployment fund

You will be notified to book an appointment for your first interview with Min A-kasse no later than two weeks after you have registered as unemployed. At the interview, we will guide you in your job search, review and approve your CV, and answer any questions you may have.

The interview is based on your specific situation. Together we draw up 'Job search requirements', which is part of My Plan. 'Job search requirements' is an agreement that forms the framework for your job search and is included in the availability assessment. We agree on the strategy that best supports your chances of getting a job and subsequently evaluate it at your other interviews in the unemployment fund and in connection with the availability assessment.

2nd and 3rd interview at the unemployment fund

After your first interview with the unemployment fund, you will be invited to two further interviews within the first 3 months. The interviews are based on your situation, your job search and any activities agreed with us. We look again at Job Search Requirements and My Plan.

Availability interview

To be entitled to unemployment benefits, you must be available for work.

If we can see that you need inspiration or targeting in your job search, or if your job search is inadequate, we can invite you to an availability interview. We will call you in for an availability interview when we assess that there is a need for it. It is important that you attend these interviews, otherwise you risk losing your right to unemployment benefits.

Interviews at the municipality

After three months, the conversations will be transferred from the unemployment insurance fund to the municipality.

Once you have been unemployed for three months, the interviews will be transferred from the unemployment insurance fund to the municipality. Here, you will have three more interviews within the next three months. These interviews will focus on your job search, your situation, and any agreements you have made with us and/or the municipality.

One of our job consultants can attend your first meeting with the municipality. It is up to you whether you want us to attend your first meeting with the municipality.

After 6 months, meetings with the municipality are arranged as needed.
